You Cannot See Them

orbs (c) Cheyenne MacMasters 2013

You cannot see them

ladies walking home at night

wrapped in towels

dampening sarongs

orbs (c) Cheyenne MacMasters 2013

You hear their laughter

and sleepy murmurs

spirits follow

listening closely

orbs (c) Cheyenne MacMasters 2013

You cannot see them

ladies with attentive spirits

walking gliding

through the night

orbs (c) Cheyenne MacMasters 2013
Freshly bathed

thoughts of comforts

home draws them onward

ladies walking above

orbs (c) Cheyenne MacMasters 2013

You did not see them

Nor saw the spirits

that shadowed

wet ladies

walking home tonight.

  1. I agree with the preceeding blogger: ‘Excellent imagery’. I’ve found a strange word: ‘sarong’ … My vocabulary is bigger! Thank you, Cheyenne, for a poem and lesson. 🙂

    1. Thank you, Wanda, for your lovely comment. Now, the next lesson is how to wear a sarong. That one I haven’t mastered, so I use mine as a shawl to block the sun and protect against air conditioning.
