You cannot see them
ladies walking home at night
wrapped in towels
dampening sarongs
You hear their laughter
and sleepy murmurs
spirits follow
listening closely
You cannot see them
ladies with attentive spirits
walking gliding
through the night
thoughts of comforts
home draws them onward
ladies walking above
You did not see them
Nor saw the spirits
that shadowed
wet ladies
walking home tonight.

I agree with the preceeding blogger: ‘Excellent imagery’. I’ve found a strange word: ‘sarong’ … My vocabulary is bigger! Thank you, Cheyenne, for a poem and lesson. 🙂

Thank you, Wanda, for your lovely comment. Now, the next lesson is how to wear a sarong. That one I haven’t mastered, so I use mine as a shawl to block the sun and protect against air conditioning.

Thank you, Debra. It was interesting watching the orbs grow dimmer, more distant, as the ladies moved further up the road.
