Last night was cold in Bisbee, Arizona. Some of yesterday’s snow was still on the ground and I’m glad my jeans are baggy enough to accommodate long underwear. Because now that the world has ended and begun again, there are still some routines that must be done, like walking the dog at night. For a quester of orbs this is prime time to see who’s in the neighborhood.

These are all orbs lighting up the image, can’t say that I noticed them lighting up the night until I took the picture. Digital flash photography is my extra pair of eyes to discover the world around me. Some of you who are familiar with my blog have noticed that orbs are particularly attracted to dog walks with my husband, much more than if I’m out by myself with the cats. What is different about the photos in this posting is the hexagonal shapes of many of the orbs (you may need to enlarge the image on whatever computer device you are using  to see the sharp edges).

The large orb at my husband’s shoulder has all the characteristic details we have come to know in orbs: the darker inner rim and interior modulations. But the hexagonal outer edge indicates that the orb’s light reached the camera when the shutter was beginning to close. At first I thought it was the cold that was affecting the speed of the light. However, I just double checked my camera and the top dial on the Canon G12 was set at AV instead of the usual Auto setting I use for orb photography. So, there goes my initial cold orbs are slower theory.

A few hours later and we’re back on the road with a party of orbs sailing overhead and all around. Nothing like a brilliant orb and the whole gang showing up on the view screen to bring a smile and shout of delight to this orb quester!

It has been a week since my last post, a time of holiday relaxation and fun with family. Yesterday I began to catch up on all the blogs that have been accumulating in my e-mails.
